Dallas/FtWorth February snow!
There’s a kind of ‘hush’ all over the Metroplex as we receive the largest deposit of snow in recorded history, 9+ inches of wonderful!
Amazing how it changes the atmosphere – inside and outside. Society slows to an even pace, home-fires burn around the clock, and kids only come inside to eat! We honor the ‘snow day’ rule around here. School is CANCELLED!
The world, as we’ve known it, is covered in SNOW!! Snowmen decorate the ‘hood’ and wet ski bibs decorate the fireplace. We actually have ‘snowflakes that stay on your nose and eyelashes‘ – the girls pointed that one out.
This blanket of bliss altars our plans and draws us to ‘be still and know that I am God.‘ Psalm 46:10 – a convenient truth!
Time seems to stand still – problems can wait – the hush around us is louder than the rant of life’s never ceasing demands.
I love snow days!

Isn’t it just wonderful! What a special memory this snow will be for all of us.
BTW, I love the Sound of Music reference!!

Tarrah,
The picture of your little one playing in the snow is adorable! And Ben watching through the window – - love it.
Yes it was such a special time to take in the wonder of our creator. A marker in our life, the winter of 2010… I just soaked it in, went out to play, and took pictures of my children still here to play with, and every child that came out to play in our neighborhood…what a special gift from God.
