Monday, Monday …

by Debi on April 5, 2010

Right off the bat, I sorta cheated … you might say I got a ‘head start’. I clean a local business on weekends to barter for services. So, with Easter weekend being so jam-packed with goodness – I waited until E-A-R-L-Y this morning to clean. Therefore … I HAD to get up.  BUT, I chose better lookin clothes {big improvement} and since my laundry was done, I had more choices too! I even turned in at a decent hour last night. I like starting the week this way.

However, we had a visitor in the night. First name starts with “F“, middle initial “L” and last name begins with “U” – yep, stomach flu. :) So, today I’ve been the best dressed nurse around! OK, I’m exaggerating – but I DO look more together than I normally would – trust me!

By taking the challenge, I didn’t give myself permission to be the frumpy nurse. I think it helped with the self-pity too. Which accompanies the flu in our house since I pretty much never get it {not that I want it}. So, I have the awesome privilege of … cleaning up.

Since I promised not to bore you with endless details about my day – this is ALL I’m gona say.

Here I am cleaning up after ‘the visitor’. Boy, I look “so much cooler online”!

Thanks, Sarah Mae for the challenge to “Get Dressed” – regardless of what the day may hold. I do hope tomorrow’s more normal. Note to self:  redefine ‘normal’. Maybe I really mean ‘ideal‘. Meanwhile, I try to keep wearing the best part of my wardrobe – a smile. My scent for the day? ‘Ode of disinfectant’.

Oh wow, what a rough start to the week but you’ve obviously handled it with style :) I’m praying your family gets over the unwanted “visitor” and you are spared any personal one-on-one time.

I clicked on your link and was so happy to read your “vision” for your blog. This is a great help to me, especially this week! I hope all recover quickly. P.S. You do look great online :)

So sorry!
Patsy Clairmont says…”Normal is only a setting on the dryer”. I read that book years ago and it has become my motto.
Blessings and wellness to the whole Chapman family…and by the way, I have recently be convicted about my daily looks….once again, seems I am a slow learner.

Thank you, Janette! I’m likin’ that ‘normal’ motto. :)
We ALL need help on the ‘daily’ – or to stay on track with doing what we really intend to anyway.

Okay, this was the BEST stinkin (no pun intended) post I read all day ! Might I add, you look lovely in the picture with your bare feet and shag rug! haha

:-)

I was up all night with a sick child, but managed to get myself put together by 8:30! I was pleased with that.

Ha! How do you like my ‘vintage’ vacuum?
Congrats on making it up early and ‘put together’. Sorry to hear you’re dealing with this too? Bless you!
