Mixed Berries

by Debi on July 6, 2010

Summer recipes are simple and refreshing.

An all time favorite of ours is fresh mixed berries.

I get a variety of colorful berries, rinse them well in the colander and serve in the prettiest bowl I can find. This guilt-free/gourmet mixture WORKS FOR ME - breakfast, lunch or dinner – over short cake or served alone. Leftovers are NOT a problem when these are served!

IF you want to get fancy, sprinkle powdered sugar on top, add a big plop of Blue Bell Ice Cream or even goat cheese on the side. Whatever works for you.

Summer’s berries are inexpensive and picturesque, especially those from the Farmer’s Market!

This simple, yet elegant, mixture works for me ~ this Wednesday.

I am with ya – simple berries make the best snack! We like to just snack on frozen berries too.

Same here. We eat so many of them we have to visit local farms and pick our own. A little less expensive and we can eat until our heart’s content.

Yea, I think it’s God’s dessert – because it so naturally hits the spot either with an elegant meal or over ice cream. Plus, it’s so valuable nutritionally!
