Life seems so precious this time of year ~ when we stop and notice simple graces.
Grace is always simple. Over the Thanksgiving season, the ‘pilgrim‘ in us bows to give thanks. We stop and reflect on the year that’s gone by and look at what’s in our hands. When we honor the Lord with a heart of gratitude, we taste the richness of life and swallow the bitterness. In the midst of pleasure – intermingled with pain – we look to a holy God, the stable One. Is there any other response to the eternal Lord of the Universe in the midst of life on earth – so fleeting?
This Thanksgiving we savored the holiday at home with our family. Whole Foods graced our table along with this lovely Dayspring pitcher. {compliments of Blessings Unlimited} The joy of our kid’s company was grace enough in itself.
The day was followed by ‘Black Friday’ – middle of the night shopping with my daughter, Hannah. Call me ‘crazy’ – but it was crazy fun! Then, traveling {if 2 hrs counts as ‘travel’} to visit grandparents where we fully enjoyed the company of cousins, aunts, uncles and more. Children running and playing outside, headed to the fishing pond – rods in hand, fire-pit s’mores, playing cards reshuffled, football games one after another {for the die-hard fans} and food that we will remember until next year. We enjoyed the serenity of outdoors and the clamor of the indoor world. Laughter – lots of laughter. Such a special time. So simple – so much grace.
We face the future renewed, in a way that only a thankful heart can position us for. I’m so thankful for a simple Thanksgiving. Thankful for grace – it’s sufficient. {2 Corinthians 12:9}
Congrats to Mama Hall! She won the Discovery Toy giveaway. Eryn has a great mom/blog and I got to meet her at Relevant {it was a set-up from the Lord, literally}. Check out her blog – Mama Hall – making the most of it – you’ll be blessed.
Thank you all for entering the giveaway. I’ll have another one real soon. I love to give things away and this is such a fun way to do it!

Congrats, Eryn! I’m happy for you.
Debi, This post brought me to to tears and I couldn’t really put my finger on exactly what touched me so deeply. Something about your appreciation of the simple things that you are enjoying, your gratitude, and just the way you express yourself with so much confidence in our Father. Thank you, for bringing perspective into my own ungratefulness for the simple beautiful things that surround me every day! I love and admire more than you know!
