I enjoy this week after Christmas, just before the New Year begins. In the balance between closing one year and beginning another – I find myself *puttering*.
In case you’re one of those high energy moms that never stops – here’s the definition -
v. put·ter 2 (p
t
r)
v. put·tered, put·ter·ing, put·tersTo occupy oneself in an aimless or ineffective manner.v.tr.To waste (time) in idling: puttered away the hours in the garden.
So – I find myself doing a little of this and a little of that. The key word is little!! After the busy holiday it’s refreshing to relax from the ridged schedule and enjoy doing … well … just about whatever I want! (between mealtimes and laundry, that is) I consider puttering a luxury!
Before I pack the Christmas decorations away and get my 2010 More Times Moms Calendar filled out, I interrupt the nonstop – 24/7 – with days of intermittent … putter. I clean out a closet, organize something, hang a picture, read a magazine, contact a friend and even TAKE A NAP! Come New Years Day – all will change – that means I only have 2 more days!!
If you haven’t already – I suggest you give yourself permission to putter – it’s good for the soul.
